We’re Talking About the Name of Jesus
There’s power in a name—and not just any name.
We’re talking about the Name of Jesus!
The entire Kingdom of God stands in full force behind that Name. When you say “Jesus,” you’re not whispering a religious phrase… you’re unleashing Heaven’s authority!
1. Jesus Received His Name by Inheritance
He’s not just a son—He’s the Son of God!
Everything the Father owns, Jesus inherits. That means the authority, the honor, the glory—all belong to Him. His Name carries weight because of who He is: the spotless, sinless, holy Son of God.
2. Jesus Received His Name by Accomplishment
Jesus didn’t just show up and demand power. He earned it through perfect obedience.
Even when obedience meant a cross, He said “Yes.”
When the sin of the whole world—past, present, and future—was placed on Him, He became sin for us so that we could become righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21).
That’s not just grace. That’s wild love.
3. Jesus Received His Name by Conquest
Hell thought it won… until Jesus showed up.
The Holy Spirit empowered Him right in the middle of the enemy’s territory, and Jesus took the keys of Hades and Death (Revelation 1:18).
Then the Father raised Him up and seated Him at His right hand—victorious, alive forevermore!
And here’s the part that’ll make you want to run around your living room shouting:
When you believe in Him, you were raised with Him. You’re seated with Christ in heavenly places right now (Ephesians 2:6).
That’s your position—in the Spirit, in authority, in victory!
4. Jesus Gave the Command
After His resurrection, Jesus said:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Now you—GO!”
He passed the baton.
He gave the mission.
And He put His Name in your mouth as the key to carry it out.
When you pray in His Name, speak in His Name, or step out in His Name—you’re walking in His delegated authority. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead backs you up.
This is so, so good!
Let’s close out with gratitude:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your awesome plan of redemption.
Thank You that we are forgiven by grace and seated with You in Christ Jesus.
A thousand thank-you’s and praises to Your Holy Name!
