When Wisdom Shouts (Are You Listening?)
You’ve been there.
Standing in a busy store or walking through a parking lot when suddenly—you hear a mom yell a name like she means business.
Heads turn. Even yours.
You don’t know who she’s yelling at, but something in your soul says, “I’d better pay attention.”
That’s exactly how Proverbs describes Wisdom.
She’s not tucked away in a corner somewhere.
She’s not waiting in a quiet chapel.
She’s out in the streets, raising her voice, calling out in the middle of everyday life:
“Wisdom shouts in the streets, she lifts her voice in the public square…” (Proverbs 1:20–21)
Yep. Wisdom’s out there. Loud and clear.
But not everyone is listening.
The Crazy Part?
The Bible says that Jesus has become our wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30).
So when Wisdom is shouting—it’s not just a concept.
It’s not just a proverb.
It’s a Person.
It’s Him.
And here’s the real talk:
We’ve got access to that wisdom.
We don’t have to go searching far and wide.
But we do have to pursue it.
That means:
Because while wisdom is calling, not everyone responds.
Proverbs 1 gives a tough warning: If you ignore her long enough, regret has a way of showing up at your doorstep.
But there’s a promise too.
And it’s a good one:
“Whoever listens to Me will dwell safely,
and be secure, without fear of evil.” (Proverbs 1:33)
Safe.
Secure.
Not ruled by fear.
That sounds pretty good right about now.
So here’s the challenge:
Before you scroll. Before you speak.
Before you lock in that decision or lose your cool…
Ask the One who is wisdom:
“What do You say?”
Then actually do it.
Let’s pray:
Jesus, we call out to You. Be our wisdom today. In every situation. Every decision. Every unknown. Thank You for always being ready to guide us. We choose to listen. And we choose to follow.
Blessings and peace to you today—

- We ask the Holy Spirit before asking Siri.
- We lean in—not to our own understanding—but to the One who knows the end from the beginning.
