Born Again: More Than a Church Phrase

Last week we made a powerful declaration together:

“I am a spirit, I have a mind, and I live in a body. Thank You, Lord, for Your amazing work in me! I have been born again. Jesus, I love You and praise You forever!”

That’s not just a catchy line — that’s a life-altering truth!

So let’s unpack this: what does it really mean to be born again?

1. You’ve Changed Addresses — Spiritually Speaking

When you were born again, you moved kingdoms.
Colossians 1:13 says, “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

You didn’t just get a religious label; you got a new residence. You’re no longer under Satan’s control — you’re under Heaven’s government. The King Himself rules your heart now. That’s a big deal!

2. You’re a Whole New You

2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

That means the old you — the one burdened by guilt, sin, and shame — is gone. Buried. Dead.
God didn’t put a spiritual Band-Aid on you; He gave you a brand-new life.
You’ve been redeemed, washed, forgiven, and re-born into the family of God.

You’re not trying to become someone new — you already are.

3. You’ve Got a Seat in Heavenly Places

Ephesians 2:6 says you’ve been raised up and seated with Christ in heavenly places.
Translation: you’re not fighting for victory anymore — you’re living from it.
The same authority Jesus has, He’s shared with you. That’s why you can pray boldly, speak confidently, and walk in peace no matter what comes your way.

4. You’ve Got His Name, His Peace, and His Power

Jesus didn’t leave you empty-handed.
He said in John 16:33, “In Me you may have peace.
He handed you His authority in Matthew 28 and Mark 16.
He gave you access to His power in John 14.

You’ve got Heaven’s signature on your life — the Name above every name.

And that’s where we’re headed next week: The Name of Jesus — the Name above every name!

Until then, take a minute today and say it out loud:

“I’m not who I used to be. I’m born again, redeemed, and filled with the Spirit of God!”

? Father, thank You for Your great plan of redemption. Thank You that I’m free, forgiven, and forever Yours. All praise, honor, and glory to You!
