Is God Real? And Why Believing in the Invisible Might Be the Most Logical Thing You Ever Do

You’ve probably never seen oxygen.

You’ve never shaken hands with gravity.

You’ve never laid eyes on love, held trust in your hands, or watched purpose walk into a room.

But you believe in all of those, don’t you?

So let’s talk about it, Walt.

Maybe you’re on your morning commute, sipping a strong coffee, catching a moment of quiet before another whirlwind day. And somewhere between red lights and radio ads, a question drifts across your mind: Is God real? Or maybe more to the point: Can I really believe in something—or Someone—I can’t see?

You’re not alone. That question is as old as time. And it’s a good one. So let’s dig into it.

1. You Already Believe in the Unseen Every Day

You trust that your car’s brakes will work, even though you don’t fully understand the physics behind them. You believe your paycheck will hit on Friday, even though it’s not in your account yet. You believe your spouse is faithful, your kids are safe at school, and that tomorrow’s sun will rise.

You believe in stuff you can’t see all the time.

Faith isn’t some out-there religious leap off a cliff. It’s woven into everyday life. The real question is: Where is your faith placed?

2. Evidence is Everywhere… If You’re Looking

Think about your phone. It’s sleek, smart, and powerful. Now imagine someone telling you it just happened—no design, no blueprint, no creator behind it.

Sounds absurd, right?

And yet, your DNA is more complex than any phone. Your heart beats in rhythm. Your eyes can see color. Your brain is processing words on a screen right now, and you’re probably also half-thinking about what to make for dinner tonight.

Design screams for a Designer.

Romans 1:20 puts it like this:
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made…”

In other words? You may not see Him directly—but you see His fingerprints everywhere.

3. Maybe It’s Not Proof You’re Missing—It’s Trust

A lot of people say, “If God is real, He should just show up, loud and clear.”

But imagine if every time you had a question about your marriage, your wife dropped from the sky with a heavenly spotlight to give you an answer. That’s not a relationship. That’s a control mechanism.

God isn’t into forced faith. He’s into trust. Into relationship.

Sometimes we think faith is pretending. But real faith is simply this: choosing to trust what you can’t yet see based on what you already do.

4. The Pascal Wager for the Practical Man

A 17th-century thinker named Blaise Pascal came up with a simple but profound logic puzzle. Here’s the remix:
  • If you believe in God and you’re right—you gain everything.
  • If you believe in God and you’re wrong—you lose nothing.
  • But if you don’t believe in God and you’re wrong—you lose everything.

Now that’s not a scare tactic—it’s just an invitation to think it through.

You’ve got everything to gain. Nothing to lose. Why wouldn’t you look into this more?

5. Okay, But What If I’ve Been Burned by Religion?

We get it. Maybe you’ve been to a church that felt cold, fake, or full of judgment. Maybe someone “religious” did more damage than good.

Here’s the good news: that wasn’t God.

Jesus came to reveal who God really is—not some distant scorekeeper in the sky, but a Father who runs to you while you’re still far off (Luke 15). Not a God who waits for you to clean up, but one who meets you right where you are.

So… Is God Real?

Absolutely.

More real than the doubts in your head.
More real than the mess in your life.
More real than the pain in your past.

You might not see Him yet—but He sees you. And He’s been leaving breadcrumbs in your path all along.

So maybe today’s the day you take a step—not into religion, but into relationship.
Not into pretending, but into trusting.
Not into stiff tradition, but into something real.

Because even if you can’t see Him… He’s been reaching out to you all along.

Next Step?

Start small. Talk to Him like He’s real. Ask questions. Explore. Maybe even show up at a church that doesn’t feel fake. (We know a great one on the Westside…)

And if you’re still unsure?

That’s okay. God’s not intimidated by your doubts.

He’s just waiting for a crack in the door.

And when you open it?

Get ready for everything to change.
